KILIMANJARO
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, often called the roof of Africa. It lies in northeastern Tanzania, south of the border with Kenya. The highest point of the mountain is Uhuru Peak (5895 m or 19.340 ft) on the edge of the crater of the Kibo volcano. It boasts five different eco-systems, on the way to the summit, you will encounter lowland brush, equatorail rainforest, heathlands, alpine deserts and arctic valleys. Two other peaks extinguished the volcano: Mawensi (5149 m), which is the third highest mountain in Africa after Mount Kenya, and Shira (3962 m). The ascent to Uhuru Peak is not technically demanding, but it should be not underestimated. It is mentally and physically challenging, and you should prepare for that climb accordingly.

There are seven routes that you can take up to the mountain: Northern Circuit Route, Lemosho Route, Shira Route, Machame Route, Rongai Route, Marangu Route and Umbwe Route.

The answer on which route should be the best for you depends on how many days you have for a tour, what you want the most from your hike, how good acclimatized you come and many other conditions. We recommend you that you choose the proper acclimatization schedule and enough days for the mountain to safely make your summit and enjoy all the way up and down.
